David Trim was born to missionary parents in India, went to school in Australia, and university in the UK. His PhD is from the University of London. A Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, he has published nine books and some forty scholarly articles and book chapters. He taught history, hermeneutics and missiology at Newbold for ten years, held the Walter Utt Chair of History at Pacific Union College for two years, and is presently the Director of Archives, Statistics, and Research, at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
